Eleanor will be sadly missed by her husband of 35 years Wally; her children Bruce (Colleen) and Kelly (Keith) mother Eva Novotny; brothers and sisters Frank (Joy), Gladys, Jim (Judie), Henry (Judy), Ron (Pearl), Evy (Mark) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her father Henry. Eleanor had a zest for life unfettered by her 18 year battle with lupus and her recent conquering over cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. We will always cherish the memory of Eleanors love, kindness, caring, generosity and her courage to fight and overcome all her illnesses. Eleanor took great satisfaction in her success of becoming a registered nurse. It was her life long dream and we all shared in her pride and joy when at the age of 40 she went back to school to fulfil her dream. She will always be remembered for her many hobbies and interests. She was an avid curling and Blue Jay fan. Eleanor spent many hours knitting, doing ceramics and working on her needlepoint projects. Many wonderful winters were spent down in Arizona with Wally. Her summer months were full with gardening. She took great pride in her flowers, vegetables and tomatoes. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Manitoba Clinic for the their dedication and care over the past years. Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Eleanors memory to the Lupus Society of Manitoba Inc., 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, Man., R3C 3R6.
